Where to even start with this movie! Every dialogue, every scene and all the acting performances felt so natural and they’re all executed perfectly.
There are no dull points in direction throughout the film. The whole movie flows seamlessly and it never breaks the tension or the emotion throughout it. There are many really great scenes that stands out.Great direction and acting with fantastic dialogues makes the motivations of each and every character so clear and understandable.
The color grading for this movie is beautiful. It gives a beautiful dark tone to film (which it’s supposed to be). Pink is not usually the color I would’ve imagined for the billboards as the movie is supposed to be dark but just look at how beautiful the billboards look in a green land because of the color grading.Martin McDonagh did a great job writing it that no point in this movie does it feel like the script has picked a side with one of the characters. There’s no hero/anti-hero in the movie. Each and every character motivations are so understandable and the script manages to never break the drama/tension by picking a side. It’s not just the color grading, everything in this movie surprised me of how great it was. It’s just sad that not many know about this film because for me, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is better than all the mainstream Hollywood blockbusters, Nolan’s Dunkirk, Guillermo del Toro’s Shape of Water, all the Superhero films of 2017.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing,
Missouri is a masterpiece and probably the best movie of 2017. Everything about this movie is so “human” and it’s beautiful. Everyone in the cast brought their A game (performances by Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell are the main highlights).
Main credit for this excellent film goes to Martin McDonagh, who is the writer and director of this film.
